Ever wonder why you work so hard at the gym and things never change? Part of it is inefficient exercise routines, but that’s another topic. Eating is the big one if you are looking to take off the pounds.

 

Approximately 80-85% of weight and fat loss is diet. Now I don’t mean “diet” in the terms that it is so commonly used. Diets just don’t work. Why? Because the word “Die” is in it!! Laugh, but it’s true. Anyone can lose weight if you take an important element out of your eating habits. Take out fat; lose weight. Take out carbs; lose weight. Take out protein; same result. On the flip side, if you go on a full only carrot diet, you will gain weight! Having said that, your body needs everything….but that’s nothing new, just in moderation!

 

We’ve all heard this before; everything in moderation. So if we know this, why isn’t everyone doing it? Because it’s hard!  It takes thinking, planning and organization. The three things that mothers are experts at when it comes to their home and kids but when it comes to food (the basic requirement needed for daily living), we turn a blind eye, take a short cut and order take out. I guess we feel that as long as something is going down, that’s good enough. But not if you want to have energy, feel great and lose weight!

 

Eating healthy is hard work. Although I have been doing this for many years, I still struggle sometimes trying to make the best choices possible, prepare things ahead, pack snacks, lunches and make dinner. But what I found is that when my first daughter was born, she was a great motivator! I knew that I wanted her to have a healthy foundation, so I just followed in her foot steps. When I am packing her food for school, I make some for myself too. I am on the road ALOT so I have my food with me everywhere I go. This way I have no excuse and can’t run into the local Pizza Pizza and grab a slice.

 

Food and water is what we need to fuel our body and keep us going throughout the day. It is your choice to decide what it’s going to be. Put crap in your body and that’s just what you are going to get in return. Put nutritious whole food into your system and reap the rewards!
